Here's a new concept, it's called chain linking. What you do is simply repost this blog entry as-is on your blog and add your website to the top (or bottom) of the chain of links below. Then email the blog entry to a couple blogger friends. For participating, you'll get a little link love, a.k.a. Google juice.

An interview with Blogger of the Day, Tracy of Look! Tracy has a Camera!.

iBt4iM: Tell my readers who you are.

Tracy: My name is Tracy.  I'm a 24 year old graduate student in Industrial/Organizational psychology, married, and am a spasmodic photographer.  I was born and raised in New Orleans and am now adapting to life in the midwest.  I'm a geek at heart, married to a geek, and we love to geek out together.

iBt4iM: What's your blog? What's your blog about?

Tracy: My blog "Look! Tracy has a Camera!" is at http://tracytakespics.blogspot.com. The blog is a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  I started it mostly because I would see things, like very random household things, and just have these thoughts about them.  For instance, I've written an entire blog entry about a pretzel I found under my computer subwoofer.  I don't know, I guess I just like to put life on pause for a moment and say "wow, just look at that.. weird."  So, some of the time I take pictures of things and post my thoughts or a story about them.  The majority of the rest of the posts are about silly news stories or internet sites that make me happy.

iBt4iM: What secondary blogs do you have? Linkblogs? Moblogs?

Tracy: None.  If I like a website, I'll write about it.  A URL doesn't mean much to a reader, in my opinion.

iBt4iM: Why do you blog?

Tracy: I blog because the thought is there and I want to say it.  I blog for interaction, for the dissemination of knowledge, and for fun.  I grew up with the internet so I think it's fantastic to see it grow from these static "Hi, this is who I am" web pages, to a completely dynamic and interconnected chain of information.  I think that, from a psychological standpoint, people are and will always be curious about other human beings.  We want to connect with each other and to share stories.  We do this on many levels with family and friends, but we do this exponentially on the internet.

iBt4iM: What are your favorite blogs?

Tracy:

iBt4iM: What do you do when you are not blogging?

Tracy: Graduate school.  Like I said, I'm a geek at heart.  My husband and I have played a lot of MMORPGs together including Everquest, Dark Age Of Camelot, and Silk Road Online most recently.  As a teenager, when other girls my age were going to the mall and chatting on the phone, I was glued to my computer playing Starcraft and Quake 2.  I also enjoy reading, cross stitching, cooking, martial arts, and hiking.  As much as I love computing (the two of us have 2 desktops and a laptop in our office area), I get a little stir crazy if I don't get out and move around.  My tv is usually on for background noise.  But, when I am actually watching something it is either CNN, Cartoon Network, Whose Line is It Anyway, Eddie Izzard, or Antiques Roadshow.

iBt4iM: Thanks for taking the time to tell my readers about yourself. You are the Blogger of the Day.

Note: We are interviewing one average-Joe great-blogger every few days (we hope). If you want to be the Blogger of the Day, then email me. The Economist: Tuangou, or team buying, aims to drive unprecedented bargains by combining the reach of the internet with the power of the mob. It is spreading through China like wildfire. The practice originated in online chat-rooms but has quickly inspired several specialist websites, such as 51tuangou.com and www.teambuy.com.cn. Zhang Wei, who helped to set up teambuy less than six months ago, says the site has 10,000 registered members.

My daughter asked me several times this weekend if I could show her how to create her own Website. I eventually decided to create an MSN Spaces blog for her. She's 8 and she's blogging.

We saw Superman Returns last night. The movie started at 6:30PM and finished at 9:30PM. This movie had several instances where 10 minutes went by and nothing happened. These scenes could have been left on the editing floor and the movie would have been better. The first half hour or more was quite boring, but when Lex Luther met Lois Lane and her kid, the movie got interesting. I have to admit I was so naive that I didn't even consider that the kid was Superman's son. The movie was awesome from this point forward and until Superman died. To be exact, when the kid kisses the dead Superman. At this point, the movie could have ended there and it would have been great, but true to Hollywood style, they gave us a pointless 30 plus minute ending after the climax. If they wanted Superman back alive all they needed was a post credits scene where the nurse discovered Superman was no longer in his hospital bed and the window was broken open. Still, this is a great movie, but I had hoped for more.
