Last week, I got in a heated discussion with TDavids.  In that heated discussion, I called TDavids by the name David, as I assumed that had to be his first or last name. Turns out my assumption was wrong. I felt awful that I had made such a stupid impersonal mistake. Eating my dog food (find out who your readers are), I decided to figure out what TDavids real name was. I first checked his bio page, but I didn't find his name. My next step was to check his domain registry. You can use Alexa to find such information. I didn't find his real name there either, but I did find he has a large array of domain names. He sure doesn't make discovering his name easy. Wonder why? I then used the Who-is database at NetSol, but they simply referred me to Tucows. Checking the registry for TDavids porn blog, I finally found his real name is Todd Russell. BTW, I like blogging pics of sexy girls too, but with their clothes on and dildo removed. My sincerest apologize to Pornmaster Todd Russell for not having done this before. I hope that's your real name. Sorry!

Dude, what's your real goal for posting this? If Tdavid wants to remain anonymous, let him do so, nobody cares about his real name, and by disclosing it here without asking him about it first is just rude.

Kiltak [GAS]

Um, ok so you know his name. It's not that difficult to figure out. Whats your point?

If you read TDavids bio, he admits to being an adult content webmaster.
Another loser exposed. This should be on Destroy All Malware.
haha, I thought your apology was genuine until you said Pornmaster, at which point I hit the floor laughing.
Yeah, Todd has this "thing" about not being called by his real name. His emails on the subject aren't what you'd call "courteous."

Loser.
If I lived in the porn industry I wouldn't want my real name used.
So let me get this right... YOU and/or the author at computerworld (Richie Jennings, or using your manner would it be just as professional to call him Rick Associates Jenng) messed up an authors name, then have the post removed, and talk about "courteous" ? What about the readers who now have the "courteously" removed link? No update?
~Lestat

Lestat,
I have no idea what you are talking about. Please explain.
Thanks,

Randy

Randy, of all the cool things you've done for your fellow bloggers, this isn't one of them.  Regardless of the disagreements you've had with TDavid, the level of privacy a blogger wants to maintain should be respected.

Sterling,
After numerous attacks from Todd on me, I was left with little choice but to expose him. I'm unsure why you would defend someone who makes a living creating porn sites. Further, this information was all publicly available. I just connected the dots.

Randy
Personally I have no problem with the porn industry so long as it only involves consenting adults.

You've connected the dots for Google, too, which I believe is why TDavid uses an alias.

I think TDavid may have overreacted when you unintentionally rolled over a couple of his hot buttons the other day, but it seems to me that publicly unsubscribing was a sufficient response.

You haven't broken any rules here, but IMHO this was beneath your usually magnanimous nature.

And yes, I'm still subscribed to both of you.

--SterlingCamden
And this is the end of it for me. Good to hear we are still pals. Thanks!

Randy
What's wrong with porn as a means of making money?  It's not kiddie porn.  It's not indentured servitude.  It's not snuff porn.  It's just consenting adults, naked, on camera.  Big deal.

That doesn't change the fact that people have a right to desire privacy and, while it's difficult to claim you've violated that right by making reference to information freely available on the Internet, you have kinda overstepped yourself a little in the common courtesy department.

Frankly, you've both (Randy and TDavid) been slightly less than stellar netizens about this whole thing.  I figured I'd just let it blow over, and ignore it, but the statement "I'm unsure why you would defend someone who makes a living creating porn sites" makes implications that just begged to be addressed.  It is apparent you attach some kind of moral significance to the manner in which he makes a living, and assume that pretty much everyone should share your opinion.  Unless and until you can show me that his actions directly violate the right to self-determination of others, I shall have to respectfully disagree.
The problem with porn is that porn sites, like Todd's, are indexed in Google and my 8 yr-old daughter know how to use Google.

Randy
So are dead iraqis, autopsy photos, fatal car crashes and Vanilla Ice, stuff I wouldn't want my 8 year old to see.

Especially Vanilla Ice.

Randy
Let me get this straight...you are concerned about your EIGHT year old daughter surfing porn through Google?  If you were half the concerned parent you claim to be, then you would know about things like "parental controls" and "safe search settings" on your browser or computer...but perhaps the best thing would be DIRECT parental supervision of such a young child on the internet!  Do you also allow cable TV to babysit your daughter?  If you spent even half the time researching these things that you spent on invading this person's privacy, then you would be a fully informed parent and wouldn't be worried about your EIGHT year old child googling porn.

I guess I should also not let my daughter visit friends who have computers and lack net savvy parents. Ah.... forget that. I should just lock her in her room till she's married.

Randy

The author of Make you go hmm is a porno webmaster. Hmm :)
Oh, please. The guy runs porn sites and you are defending him.
what's the problem with running porn site? I do run porn sites and I know Tdavis. If you don't like porn, just don't look at it. there are programs to filter adult sites. Why don't you buy one and leave us alone? If you want to go after everything your morale don't like, you have lots of work ahead!!! think about all the whore in the street, dope dealers, etc, your daughter might see!!!

You can't have it both ways. You can't say "there are programs to filter adult sites" while trying to circumvent those same programs. Examine the HTML of Todd's porn blog and you'll note that he doesn't include the proper <META> information to have it automatically by the adult content filters.

Sorry! You lose. Please try again.

Randy

The content filter called "Randy" seems to be broken......
Strange, for not liking pr0n you sure seem to comment a lot about this site http://www.dirtycinema.com/?p=13

Sorry about the double post.

"I guess I should also not let my daughter visit friends who have computers and lack net savvy parents. Ah.... forget that. I should just lock her in her room till she's married.

Randy"

Reword that to:

I guess I should also not let my eight year old daughter visit friends who have computers but their parents have no problems with leaving children free with such a tool, then maybe I won't look as much of one" and you'd be halfway to being sensible.

The webbernet is for adults, not kids.

Wow, that was the stupidest thing I've heard in quite some time.
Thanks,

Randy
You mustn't read your own blog much then.
Randy, do your daughter and her friends routinely search for porn terms on google? If not then what TDavid has will never be seen by her/them. Assuming you know how google SERPS work?
You are 100% correct, because Todds recent pic tags are broken and thus anybody who enables adult content filtering in IE will never see his blog.
Thanks,

Randy
Ummm, what does that have to do with serps? If you aren't searching for adult terms you won't see his (or my) adult porn sites.

Well, if you find Todd in the SERPs and navigate to his site, with IE adult content filtering on, then the site will not load. Try it!
